It’s been more than half a decade since the PlayStation 4 has been out and the console is still going strong. The argument over which console is the better one this generation can go on forever, however, it cannot be argued that the Ps4 has sold the most units since its release.
The reason for the PlayStation 4’s success is because of the sheer quality of games that come out on the console every year. There are tons of great exclusive titles for the Ps4, and more are on the way too, such as the likes of Spider-Man and The Last of Us Part 2. Some exclusives are so good, that people buy a Ps4 just to play them. Which games are these? Here are some of the best exclusives you can play on the Ps4 right now:
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
If you’ve played Uncharted games before, then this one is not so different. It has everything you’d want from an Uncharted game i.e. a decent story, puzzles, and a dangerous adventure. Those who are familiar with the duo of Nathan and Sam would know about their previous treasure hunting adventures. However, the game’s set in a time where Nathan’s hung up his boots and tries to live the “normal” life.
However, as Sam enters the fray, the iconic duo set out to claim the treasure they’ve sought since their childhood. The story revolves around this treasure which has everything from dangerous terrains to puzzles to gunfights. Even if you’re not familiar with Nathan and Samuel Drake, the game nicely introduces both the characters at the beginning so that’s not really a big issue.
Overall, the game’s one of the best Ps4 exclusives out there and it’s not even that expensive now. It’s been years since the game’s release and you can easily buy it under $20. You can buy it from Amazon here.
BloodBorne
Even if you haven’t played any Dark Souls game before, it’s very unlikely you haven’t heard about it. Bloodborne is another creation from the developers of the infamous Dark Souls series and just by looking and playing at the game, you can tell it takes inspiration from the Souls games. Given it’s from the same devs that are responsible for some of the hardest games out there, you’ll likely end up breaking your controller after playing this, but it’s worth it.
In terms of difficulty, Bloodborne is as difficult, if not more than the Dark Souls games. Therefore, the game punishes you for small mistakes but its highly rewarding as well. There’s a deep story behind the game and there are a lot of mysteries and secrets to uncover. Bloodborne is really good at making key moments stand out in the game and it also provides great replay value.
There’s also the multiplayer which is fun, you can even play the campaign co-op with a friend but that will also bump up the difficulty. It’ll take you around 40 hours worth gameplay in this game to finish it properly, so it’s a great value-for-money deal too. It’s also inexpensive, with a price below $20. You can purchase it from Amazon from here.
God of War 4
The highly Anticipated God of War 4 is one of the newest addition to the long list of exclusives and it lived up to all the hype it had before release. The game is set in a world inspired by Norse mythology where Kratos is no longer the bloodthirsty savage he once was, but a loving father who wants the best for his son.
The best thing about GOW4 is that it takes the best things about the previous GOW games and combines them with newer things, such as the new open-world, RPG approach to the game. The game offers stunning visuals, a story that’s simple to understand yet one that’s brilliantly told and much more. The main focus of the game is the relationship between Kratos and his son, Atreus which develops as the game progresses.
One of the best aspects of the game is perhaps the music. The tracks in the game elevate a scene from good to great, which is not an easy feat at all. The story’s pacing is good, the graphics are good, the music is good, there are not many bad things you can say about this game. It’s definitely worth it, and a must-have if you haven’t played it already. You can buy it from Amazon by clicking here.
The Last of Us: Remastered
The Last of Us is perhaps the first game I would recommend to anyone who buys a Ps4. Despite being a Ps3 remaster, it’s a worthy inclusion in this list because it’s just that good. The Last of Us is proof that you don’t need multiplayer in order to provide a good experience, great storytelling can be just as good.
The game is set in a zombie-apocalypse type of world where an infection has spread out over the world which turns people that get infected into zombie-like man-hunting creatures. The story offers an emotional rollercoaster as the two protagonists can’t seem to get a break as a task as simple as completing a journey from point A to Z becomes something far more complicated.
The two main protagonists, Joel and Ellie are both relatable characters that you’ll fall in love with instantly. The game also has a DLC that goes into the backstory of Ellie as she’s introduced a bit later into the game as compared to Joel. Both the base game and the DLC is great and the game also has replay value. It’s one of the best, if not the best PS exclusive you’ll find out there.
Even though a sequel for the game is in the works, it’ll be really hard to top the game that’s adored by many. Since it’s a remaster and has been out since the release of the Ps4, The Last of Us can be bought for a cheap price, at just under $20. You can buy it from Amazon, from here.
