Blizzard Entertainment is a popular name in the world of gaming with so many games under its portfolio. Every year they host a gaming event where they announce their plans for the future and give a chance to the attendees to have a look at their newest releases.
This weekend we saw the twelfth BlizzCon event took place at Anaheim convention center in Anaheim, California. The event is actually quite entertaining as they usually have musical performances through the end. According to sources, there were 40,000 people in the event.
Now, if you missed the event we are listing down the important announcements and news that were the highlights of the event.
Warcraft III remake
Warcraft III: Ring of Chaos was originally released back in 2002 and for the fans of the hugely popular game of the time, Blizzard has confirmed on the stage of BlizzCon that its remake will be released anytime next year.
They have changed the title and it will be called Warcraft III: Reforged. It will not only have much better graphics but also the game will feature all the expansions. There is also going to be a bunch of modified maps for the PC version.
The lead designer of the game Micheal Scipione told PC Gamer. “that the brief was to “not break the game” but to expect rerecorded and redone voiceover and cut-scenes.”
World of Warcraft
The major update patches for the World of Warcraft game is also announced, the early patch called the Tides of Vengence is due in December, while the major patch is due next year.
The patch will mostly focus on the underwater gameplay and will be called Rise of Azshara. Though according to rumors the update will feature a new continent that will be called Mechagon.
Lastly, World of Warcraft Classic is set to release next summer but the early demo is available to play for the WoW subscribers. It’s only available till November 8th and only a limited amount of players are allowed to test the servers.
Diable Immortal
The story-driven game series that took Blizzard to one of the top game developers, is no doubt their Diablo series. The latest release in the series called Diable 3 dates back in 2012.
Before Blizzcon Blizzard hinted on the new Diable title in a blog post. They said, “good things come to those who wait… but evil things often take longer.” The diehard fans of the series though Diablo 4 is coming, however, they got Diablo Immortal.
Diablo Immortal is meant for the mobile devices though the graphics and the gameplay that was shown in the trailer looks phenomenal. The story bridges the gap between Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 so it should be a fun game since most of the player base would know where the game starts and ends.
On the other hand, there was no news about the animated series on Diablo that is rumored to be coming on Netflix anytime soon. However, we do know that the writer of Hellboy reboot, Andrew Cosby in on board.
Overwatch
The game of the year 2016, Overwatch is one of the unique titles that came from Blizzard’s portfolio. The game was a huge hit when it came back in early 2016, it faced many competitors but was hailed to be the game of the year due to the unique gameplay and unique PvP element which is still popular even during the Battle Royale reign.
Blizzard has done a fine job updating the game through the years such that the game is still immensely popular and due to heavy optimizations almost any type of system can run the game. The new update for the game brings a new hero to choose and she is called Ashe. She is a gunslinger who carries a rifle at her disposal.
We know that every addition in the Overwatch lobby has some connections with the story the story of Ashe is that She is predominantly related to Jesse Mcree and we may see their reunion anytime soon in the game. She also has a robot Buttler called B.O.B.
Moreover, after a short Overwatch and Lego team up last month (a new limited edition bastion figure was released) we are getting the fruits in the form of LEGO forms of Tracer, Widowmaker, Hanzo, Genji, Soldier, 76, McCree, D.Va, Reinhardt, Pharah, Mercy, Reaper, and Winston are coming on January 1st 2019.
Lucio-Oh’s
Lastly, we will be getting a new in-game breakfast cereal called Lucio-Oh’s which is the fruit of the partnership between Kellogs and Blizzard. A new ad campaign is also started to release the actual product in the market. According to rumors, the cereal will have ‘sonic vanilla’ flavor’ and some packs may also include a redeemable Loot bost.
