In the world of technology, All the big players came along with something new and exciting this year including Apple, Samsung, Motorola, LG, HTC etc, even the announcement of Andy Rubin’s Essential Phone surprised all last month, so did the update from Apple regarding iPhone8. And now here’s another incredible phone launch ready to be released, OnePlus 5!
OnePlus, an offshoot company of Oppo, from China has been in the news since day one, because of its “flagship killer” smartphones at unbelievable prices. OnePlus One was their first smartphone in 2014 which was one of the most hyped phones that year. As compared to all the top–tier smartphones at that time, it was called a “flagship killer” phone because it seriously put all the big players of the game in trouble for being a top notch smartphone at such a low price.
OnePlus has released 5 smartphones since 2014 and they have all been a success for the company. The last phone released was OnePlus 3T which got some really good reviews on the top-notch specifications of the phone.
OnePlus 5 Teaser:
OnePlus has just released a teaser of their 6th upcoming smartphone and this time they have skipped the number 4 and called their new smartphone OnePlus 5. A 10 second trailer of the upcoming One+ 5 shows a metal body with a new design along with a dual camera lens and dual LED flash.
You can also see the rounded edges with an antenna band that reminds me of iPhone 7Plus, especially looking at the camera. You can also see the power button and SIM card slot on the right side of the phone, while top of the phone has no buttons or ports. Also the new OnePlus 5 is likely to have no headphone jack like iPhone.
What is Expected?
As the company has not released any information about the phone so we can only make the closest guess by studying their way of work and the previous models. The OnePlus 5 is to be officially announced by the end of June 2017, which means we are just about 2 weeks away from getting our hands on the new OnePlus 5, I guess we can feel the excitement already because 2017 has been a great year for smartphones till now and people are expecting OnePlus 5 to be something new and great from the company. The price is not confirmed but it will be around $600. Listed below are the specifications that we should expect from the upcoming One+ 5.
Dual Camera:
As looking at the trailer and some leaked pictures we can surely say that OnePlus has surely made some major changes in the camera. The picture shows dual cameras in the new OnePlus 5 that means we should expect a lot from the phone’s camera.
OnePlus 3 and 3T had good cameras too but not as great as Google Pixel XL, Samsung galaxy S8 or iPhone 7 Plus. There have been other phones too that showed some really good results in the camera quality like HTC U11 but again it is not as great as the upper mentioned smartphones.
The upcoming OnePlus 5 has a dual lens camera that is said to be 12 mega pixels with augment and mixed reality features, which means we should defiantly expect DEPTH EFFECT results like iPhone 7 Plus and excellent camera results like Samsung Galaxy S8 or Google Pixel XL.
The company also tweeted the tagline “Dual Camera, Clearer Photos”, that is also the tagline on the box of the phone, which suggests that the new OnePlus 5 will have a monochrome and color lens pairing technology in the camera, that helps the camera to capture more detailed and colorful photos.
We couldn’t get much information about the front camera but the rumors are OnePlus 5 will have 8-mega pixel front camera. As I earlier said seeing the new camera, OnePlus has worked a lot on getting the new dual lens back camera and I can surely say it is going to be worth it!
Processor and OS:
OnePlus top tier phones are always the best the in specifications, at least in papers, so it very easy to say that the upcoming OnePlus 5 will also follow the same tradition OnePlus has started.
OnePlus 5 is packed with a powerful Snapdragon 835 Chipset processor that are also running in some top tier flagships already like S8 and S8+, HTC U11 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium. That means the new OnePlus 5 will be a powerhouse for sure. The Snapdragon 835 Chipset Processor will be clocked at 2.35Ghz according to some sources.
OnePlus 5 will have 8GB of RAM and according to a source the memory will be 128GB and 64GB.
The new OnePlus 5 will be most probably running Android Nougat with OnePlus’ own Oxygen OS.
Display:
Rumors are the new OnePlus 5 will have a new technology display having a 5”+ screen with a 2K display. The previous version of OnePlus has FHD (1080×1920) Display. So the new model on OnePlus might have a resolution up to 1440×2560.
Some of the rumors say OnePlus 5 will have 5.3” of screen while the others say it will be 5.5”, so that is not confirmed yet. The new 2K display will defiantly give a competitive edge to OnePlus over so many other phones.
Battery:
OnePlus 5 is said to have a big 4000mAh battery with fast charging capability. The previous version of OnePlus (3T) had a 3300mAh battery and it delivered a good backup with satisfying reviews, so this year the company has decided to make the battery more stronger and long lasting by making it big and super fast charging technology with Dash Charge 2.0 .
Some of the unconfirmed sources also said they new OnePlus 5 will have a 3600mAh battery which obviously will be improved compared to the last model.
Price:
Price of the new OnePlus is not official yet so we can only guess about it but according to some reliable sources the new OnePlus 5 will be priced at around $600, the previous model of the company was priced at $439 which is way less than the expected price but looking at the changes and improvements we can say the new price tag might be worth it for a lot of people.
So now all we have to do it wait till the official announcement and see how the new OnePlus 5 turns out to be?
