Samsung has made a tradition to launch durable versions of its flagships smartphones, following the tradition, this South Korean giant is again all set to launch an ‘active’ version of its latest smartphone.
Like S6 Active and S7 Active, Samsung is tipped to launch Galaxy S8 Active bearing the model number SM-G892A. In the month of May, a hint of this new version was spotted out in the list of devices which supports the Netflix in HDR.
Galaxy S8 Active with some detailed information on its specifications appeared on the Geekbench. The phone has performed extremely well on the benchmarking website as it scores 1842 in a single core test and 6394 in the multi-core test which is quite astounding scores and somewhat closer to the scores of Galaxy S8 and S8Plus.
The list has also brought out a few details of this upcoming new version of newest Samsung smartphone. It seems like Samsung has opted a few specifications from its new flagship device as S8 Active will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with a powerful 4GB of RAM.
S8 Active will be running on the latest Google operating system software Android Nougat 7.0. Compared to the newest flagship devices (S8 and S8 Plus) it is anticipated the device will house a powerful and larger battery which will facilitate the user to use the smartphone without worrying about charging.
Previously, Samsung launched a rugged version (S7 Active) of Galaxy S7 which housed a battery of 4,000 mAh whereas the flagship device (S7) housed a 3,000 mAh battery.
Furthermore, the other details of the device are still not revealed but it is predicted in term of looks, we cannot expect S8Active will be as sleek and chic as S8 and S8 Plus.
Basically, Samsung’s smartphones especially the latest ones are quite frail and thus for some users, it becomes difficult to use such fragile devices and thus to meet their needs Samsung came up with this idea of bringing out rugged version of brittle devices.
Therefore, the ‘Active’ version will be more durable but in terms of looks, it won’t be able to compete with other Samsung smartphones.
The ‘curved edges’ feature will not likely be a part of S8 Active but the device could be more sturdy and bulkier which will be ideal for the rough outdoor use.
Along with a tremendous battery capacity, it is expected the device will hold shatter-resistant screen and water and dust resistant features.
The water resistant issue was previously faced in the Galaxy S7 Active smartphone which couldn’t meet the waterproof standards and badly beleaguered the device.
Users can expect that this time they won’t face such kinds of failures in the S8 Active. Officially the date of the launch of S8 Active has not been announced yet by the Samsung.
It can be predicted that Samsung will soon unveil the other specifications and features of S8 Active. Similarly, the users are desperately waiting for the arrival of Samsung big screen phone Galaxy Note 8.
It is expected that Galaxy S8 Active will hit the market shelves by the end of this year 2017.
