Samsung has recently been releasing quite a few mid-range smartphones in the market to recover from the declining sales which are due to the competition with Chinese OEMs like OnePlus, Xiaomi and Oppo as they provide budget-friendly flagship smartphones. This year Samsung has already launched 3 new smartphones in their ‘Galaxy A’ series including the Galaxy A7, which is their first smartphone to come with a triple-camera setup and was followed by Galaxy A9 which is the only smartphone in the market to feature a quad-camera setup.
Now another smartphone by the name of Samsung Galaxy A6s has been spotted. According to the Chinese certification platform TENAA, the Galaxy A6s will be launching soon in China. The report also covers some leaked specs, hardware, design and images. The codename of the device is Galaxy Phoenix and is under the model number SM-G6200.
The leaks were first observed by GSMArena on a Chinese forum Weibo which unveils the actual design and four color options of the smartphone. The images clearly show that the Galaxy A6s will have a glass back with gradient lilac, red, blue and black color variants. Also, it reveals the dual camera setup which is vertically placed along with a dual LED flashlight just below the camera module. You can also see the elliptically shaped fingerprint scanner at the back located above the Samsung branding.
Another image shot from a different angle reveals that the blue color and lavender color variant will have silver color side frame around the smartphone, while the black and red color variant will feature the same color frame. This image also shows that the device will feature bottom firing stereo speakers, headphone jack and USB-C port for charging and data transfer.
Also, the device will sport a no notch design and has a symmetrical top and bottom bezel. The volume rocker can be found on the left whereas the power button is placed on the right of the device.
Now moving down to the revealed specs of the device, it will be powered by the Octa-core 2.2 GHz processor which is likely to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 SoC. Also, it will come with 6 Gigs of RAM paired up with 64 or 128 Gigs of internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot available for storage expansion up to 256 GB.
The display will be a 6 inch IPS panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 and pixel density of 402 ppi. It will most likely come with Android 8.1 out of the box, The rumored battery that it will house is a 3300 mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery.
The camera specs were also leaked, the dual camera setup features two 12 megapixel sensor featuring PDAF technology, the aperture, however, is still not known. The phone will be capable of recording videos in 1080p resolution. And lastly, the front camera will be a megapixel sensor.
These initial leaks suggest that this will be a great budget-friendly device that will be able to compete in the lower range smartphone market.
