Sony has slashed the price of a large number of games this week in the form of a game sale in the US PlayStation Store. The sale features some of the most popular games such as many Call of Duty classics costing much lower than they usually cost. The sale covers all PlayStation platforms including the Vita and here’s what it has to offer:
The Call of Duty sale
Usually, when a sale goes live on the PlayStation Store and it’s not any major sale, then the latest Call of Duty titles aren’t a part of that sale. However, this sale has a discount for almost every recent Call of Duty game out there on the Ps4. As is the case with other sales as well, PS Plus members get an additional bonus discount. First up in the list is Call of Duty: WWII, the latest installment of the Call of Duty series. The game has been praised for being an overall great game due to a great single player campaign along with a fun multiplayer experience. If you haven’t bought it already, it is one of the best shooters out there and it’s a must-buy. The sale brings down the Digital Deluxe Edition to $75 for PS Plus members and $90 for non-members.
The other fairly recent but not so new Call of Duty games in the sale includes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered for $24 for PS Plus members and $38 for non-members. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is also going on sale in bundled form as you’ll be able to get the Zombies Chronicles bundle for $39 with PS Plus (and $45 without). You can also pick up Infinite Warfare for just under $20. Other older games such as Call of Duty Ghosts are also available in their gold/deluxe edition bundles.
All of the above-mentioned games, perhaps with the exception of Infinite Warfare are well-received games which many people still play. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a great option if you’re one who prefers modern shooters with the game set in the future. The game comes with its zombies DLCs so it’ll take some time before you get tired of the game, it’s worth the price. Modern Warfare is an all-time classic and the remaster is really well done. If you want to go on a nostalgic journey without having to fire up the game on your computer/laptop, or just enjoy the multiplayer, then it’s definitely worth buying.
The Square Enix Sale
If Call of Duty isn’t your cup of tea then there’s a massive Square Enix sale covering all PlayStation platforms this week as well. However, there are no bonus discounts for PS Plus members for Square Enix games. Nevertheless, the Square Enix games being offered in the sale are still much cheaper than they usually are. This sale also includes some of the recent titles the game publisher has put out. Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, a great fighting game in the Final Fantasy franchise is up for grabs for $45. Lost Sphear is currently available for $45, a well-renowned RPG game. If you’re looking to play old classics then look no further, the legendary Ps2 game Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age‘s remastered version is currently available for $30. Lastly, The Final Fantasy X/ X-2 HD remaster is also available for just below $13.
The sale features a great mix of old and recent Final Fantasy games which ensures there’s something available for any Final Fantasy fan. If you’re a fan of the older games, then you can pick up the remastered version of those games without having to spend too much and if you want to catch up on recent games then they’re available on sale too.
Other Ps4 games
The games currently mentioned are the more popular recent and old games out there. There are many more games that are available in this sale such as Call of Duty Advanced Warfare (gold edition) for just under $20 for Ps Plus members and $24 for non-members. Final Fantasy XIV: complete edition is available for $30 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is available for $7.5.
Deus Ex was free for Ps Plus members a few months ago. However, if you missed it then the current price is not a bad deal for a decent game. If you’ve been following the Deus Ex franchise since the early days, then you’ll enjoy the game. If you haven’t been following the story, then it might not be as enjoyable even though they give a story background.
One of the most enjoyable games out there Just Cause 3 is worth only $7.5, an absolute steal at this price. The game offers a large sandbox and is one of the best of its kind, worth considering. Another good game, Rise of The Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration is available for under $20 and the older installment of Tomb Raider, the definitive edition is going for only $6. Sleeping Dogs: definitive edition is available for $5 as well. All of these games are worth playing.
Ps3 and Vita Sale
It’s not just Ps4 users who have a large list of games to choose from. Players on the older generation also get some great deals this week such as getting Call of Duty Black Ops 3 for under $13 with Ps Plus and $20 without. They can pick up Deux Ex: Human Revolution- Director’s Cut for just under $5 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII costs $10.
Vita owners can purchase a spin-off from the Call of Duty series called Black Ops Declassified for $8 ($9.59 for non-PS Plus members) as well as other games. A few of the Square Enix games part of the Vita sale are: Dissidia Final Fantasy for $5, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for $5, Adventures of Mana for $5 and many others as well.
The game sale overall, Although not a major sale, still offers decent titles at good prices. All of the games in the sale are good and should be given a shot if you can spare the money for it. The sale lasts till 11 AM Pacific Time March 13, only a few days left! You can find the full list of games for purchase here.
