Huawei Mate 40 Series event was scheduled to take place today. The company has announced its next-generation flagships as well as their own software experience they have been working on. Before the official first look at the devices, some new images of the devices had already been leaked. Not only do the new images shed light on the newer design, but they also tell us more about the included tech.
Ever since Google banished Huawei, users have been curious about what the tech company comes up with. Huawei has been at work for a long time now and they have come up with their own Google alternatives. The smartphone company is making progress in various fields and it safe to say that the US is missing out on the opportunity here.
Coming back to the images, they were posted by a Twitter user evleaks. They include the device in various colors well as a closeup of the camera system at the back of the phone. Camera array is an important part of smartphones now. It is amazing to see how much smartphone cameras have improved over the years.

What more interesting are the new color choices. New and unconventional colors in smartphones is a new trend in tech companies. We saw that in the Apple release event last week and it looks like Huawei has also worked on something similar. You can see the new colors in the images and it looks like they have gone for the Obvious Black, White, and Silver as well as a Yellow and some shade of Green. needless to say, the devices do look spectacular and on par with other flagships in the market.
Huawei Mate 40 Specs and Release:
On paper, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is an absolute beast. It has an incredible design with a pure flagship aura oozing out of it. One of the main features in the upcoming flagship is a 4,400 mAh battery that can be charged at 66W over USB-C and 50W wirelessly. In addition that the device ticks all the major boxes you’d expect from a flagship phone. It also comes with Huawei’s own Kirin 9000 chipset which, alongside the Apple A14 Bionic, is the only 5nm smartphone chipset on the market.
Huawei Mate 40 Pro comes with a 6.76” OLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. It has a 50 MP Ultra Vision main shooter with a massive sensor. There is also an ultra-wide lens, a telephoto, and a periscope lens. On the front, it houses a 13mp selfie cam and a wide-angle lens as well. Moving on, the device will go on sale in Europe as well.
The international variant of Huawei Mate 40 will have 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. In terms of UI, users will get EMUI 11 which is essentially Huawei’s own flavor of Android 10. There will not be any Google services on the phone though so it cannot be recommended to anyone outside of China.
