Huawei is all set to release a new flagship smartphone, the Honor 10, on April 19 at an event in China. The international audiences can expect it to arrive globally on May 15. Some specs of the device have been revealed ahead of the launch by  China’s TENAA certification site. The Honor 10 will be available in four variants —COL-AL10, COL-TL10, COL-AL00, and COL-TL00 and are expected to be really powerful and attractive considering that Huawei has been releasing many great phones this year. So without further ado, Here is everything that we know about the latest Honor 10.

  • Design:

A few images of Honor 10 were leaked recently which give us a solid idea of the overall design, it is clearly inspired by the recently released Huawei P20 which is a really attractive device. The phone will feature a glass back with a dual camera setup mounted horizontally at the top left corner. In the image, there is no fingerprint scanner present at the back of the phone which indicates that the device will most likely feature a front-facing scanner just like the P20. Another similar feature to note in the image is the color of the phone which resembles the twilight version of the P20. We also know that the phone’s exact dimensions are 149.6 x 71.2 x 7.7mm and that it will weigh in at 153g.

  • Specifications:

Now let’s take a look at the leaked specs of the Honor 10. All the four models will be powered by Huawei’s Kirin 970 chipset clocked at 2.36 GHz. This processor is specially designed to provide extensive Artificial Intelligence (AI) features and also sports Neural Processing Unit (NPU). It will have either  4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. Also, the Honor 10 will have USB Type-C port, stereo speakers, NFC, dual-sim and will run the latest Android operating system.

The Honor 10 will have a tall notched  5.84 inch TFT display with a resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixel and 19:9 aspect ratio. The small notch cutout is for the camera and ear piece just like the one on the P20 series.

  • Camera:

According to the leaked images, the Honor 10 will feature a dual camera setup though this time it is not designed by Leica. The TENAA site states a 16 megapixel camera and 24 megapixel camera on the back and 24 megapixel selfie camera on the front. The camera software will have advanced AI for “semantic image segmentation mode” which means that the device will be capable of detecting multi-scene within a single picture which is all thanks to the Kirin 970.

The Huawei P20 series were rated for the best-in-class cameras by DxOMark so we can also expect great camera performance from the Honor 10.

  • Battery:

The phone will come loaded with a  3,320 mAh battery which is not huge but I guess it will easily last for a day without any problem.

  • Price And Availability:

The Honor 10 will be launching officially later this week and will launch globally on May 15 at an event in London. Nothing has been mentioned about when it will arrive the shelves or what will its price but we can expect it to cost around $500 or less considering other Honor phones.

  • Early Verdict:

The Honor 10 seems like a great phone on paper, it is featured with extensive AI and really great cameras along with really attractive design. Recently, at a press event for the launch of the Honor 7A and 7C at the United Kingdom, a spokesperson for the Chinese company said that the Honor 10 will be “the sexiest product ever”. We can not say anything about the actual performance of the phone for now, you will have to wait for our full review of the phone for that so stay tuned for more updates.
