The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has been, without any doubt, a trainwreck. Being one of the most hyped games of possibly the last decade, it had a lot of expectations on its shoulders. However, due to the game being rushed out to meet deadlines, despite multiple delays, Cyberpunk 2077 was extremely buggy at launch.
However, it was not the bugginess of the game that sparked the entire controversy. The game, despite its bugginess, ran fine on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. Last-gen consoles, on the other hand though, didn’t fare so well. On the base Xbox One and PS4, Cyberpunk 2077 was and still is, a complete mess. The game has unloaded textures all over the place. And, the abysmally low framerates are just the cherry on top.
So, obviously, this sparked outrage as CDProjektRed had promised to deliver a working product on last-gen consoles but failed to keep its promise. As a result, tons of people got refunds for Cyberpunk 2077. This launch has much wider implications though.
Some positives from this messy launch
Not only does the launch affect CDPR’s reputation, but it has also moved the industry as a whole and hopefully, other developers can also learn and not rush their unfinished games out.
In addition to that, we as consumers can also hopefully learn to be more patient. Part of the reason why Cyberpunk 2077 was released in an unfinished state was that CDProjektRed was under immense pressure from the public to release the game. Despite delaying the game several times, the team had to release it this time around as people had started to doubt if Cyberpunk 2077 would ever even come out.

Nevertheless, this will go down as one of the biggest launch controversies in history. Having said that, not everything is dark and grim for CDPR as there’s plenty of time to make things right. Others like No Man’s Sky have managed to turn the ship around and this can easily go down that route as well. Furthermore, this will also have a net positive impact on the games industry as developers would be warier of releasing unfinished games.
Cyberpunk 2077 is still a great game despite its flaws
In any case, despite its flaws on last-gen consoles, Cyberpunk 2077 is still a fantastic game at its core. On PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5, it is everything that we’d hoped it would be and more. The dense and content-rich world of Night City and its outskirts is arguably one of the best open worlds we’ve seen in any game. The sheer amount of interactability and life in this world is just incredible to behold and, with the promised fixes coming next year, Cyberpunk 2077 will definitely turn into a memorable experience.
With that said, the incredibly complex world of Cyberpunk 2077 comes with some caveats as well. Since there’s so much stuff to do in Night City, a lot of it isn’t quite available to everyone. In this dystopian future, you have to pay for everything. And, to pay for all this stuff, you need to earn some money. The quests are a pretty good source for earning cash in this game but they can feel grindy at times.
However, if you’re not in the mood to grind for hours and just want some quick cash, there are some exploits in the game that haven’t been patched yet. These exploits and bugs allow you to essentially generate unlimited cash at will, which sounds and is completely broken. Having said that, while it may diminish the value of fun for some people, it definitely reduces the painstakingly boring fetch quests that you have to perform for some quick buck.
So, here are some Cyberpunk 2077 exploits that can give you infinite money within the game:
1. Get unlimited money using a Vending Machine
Night City is full of vending machines that sell different items. However, not all of these contain the same items. So, what you want to do for this exploit is to find a vending machine that sells items for $10 each rather than the 5 dollar ones. These vending machines usually have higher value drinks and items that can be easily broken down into useful components.
Once you’ve located the vending machine, buy everything and empty it out. Since you’ll be buying a lot of stuff, you do need some cash on hand before you do this.
After you’ve purchased everything from the vending machine, pick the items up, and put them in your inventory. Once everything is there, all you have to do is dismantle the individual items one by one. Dismantling will give you a bunch of crafting materials.
One thing to note though is that if you have the Mechanic crafting perk unlocked for your character, you can get even more crafting materials out of the dismantling process. So, if you have some spare perk points lying around, unlocking Mechanic can be really good.
Now that you’ve obtained materials for crafting, just head over to the crafting menu and craft as much high-value green (uncommon) items as you can. Crafting things also gives XP as a side reward so you can earn tons of extra experience points for leveling up this way as well.
Now, just head over to a weapons vendor or a drop station and sell off all the weapons that you’ve crafted. You’ll notice that this will result in a net gain. Now, you can repeat this process over and over again to make some easy money on the streets of Night City.
2. The Painting exploit:
People have found some very crafty methods to make infinite money in Cyberpunk 2077. If you thought that the previous method was slow and tedious, this one is much faster and has greater rewards too. However, since this is more of an unintended bug, you probably don’t have an eternity to pull this off before it is eventually patched by CDPR.
Nevertheless, this method of earning infinite cash in Cyberpunk 2077 involves the Space Oddity side quest. If you’ve already completed this side job, you’re sadly out of luck. If you haven’t though, get ready to earn some serious cash.
In order to get the Space Oddity side quest, head over to Rancho Coronado in Santo Domingo. There’s a gas station here with a homeless area and this is where you’ll find the quest. Now, head to the men at the table and deal with them. You have 3 options for this: you can either have a body level of 7, buy the laptop or just kill them.
After obtaining the laptop, you can either hack into it or find the guy who originally owned it. To hack into the laptop, you’ll need a level 10 intelligence at least. If you don’t have that, just head over to the western end of the gas station and you’ll find his body next to some dumpsters. Just scan it and get the access shard from the body.
Once you’ve hacked into the laptop, get coordinates for the painting by using launch.exe on the laptop. Now, head to the area and take down the soldiers guarding the painting. These guys can be quite tough so make sure that you’re at least at level 15 before you tackle them.
Sell the painting over and over again for infinite cash
After defeating the Militech agents, obtain the painting and now, you’ll be able to sell the painting at a drop box. So, just head over to the closest drop box to sell off the painting for 4,000 eddies.
This is where the fun begins though. Now that you’ve sold the painting, you can rebuy it as well. Just access the drop box again after tabbing out and you’ll see that the price for the painting has dropped down drastically. You can now re-buy that painting for an incredibly low 5 eddies. And now you can sell it again for the same 4,000 eddies price.
If the drop box has run out of cash, just head over to another one and repeat the process. This way, you can make hundreds of thousands within mere minutes. This is one of the most effective exploits to earn infinite eddies in Cyberpunk 2077. However, we expect it to be patched out soon so hurry up before it goes away!
3. Sasquatch Cyberpunk 2077 Exploit:
This particular exploit not only gives you a good amount of cash, but it also rewards you with XP and street cred. However, performing this exploit requires a fixed set of steps that has to be replicated perfectly.
In order to get the Sasquatch exploit in Cyberpunk 2077 to earn infinite cash, XP, and street cred, you’ll need to get the I Walk The Line main quest. If you’ve already completed it, you’re sadly out of luck. If not, make sure you utilize this exploit as it can only be done within this particular quest.
In the quest, you have to defeat Sasquatch and her cronies. However, before fighting Sasquatch, make sure that you’ve defeated all the other enemies. This will ensure that you don’t have to fight them over and over again for this exploit.
Once, you’ve defeated Sasquatch’s people, start the fight with her and kill her. You’ll get some XP, street cred, and cash after you loot her. Don’t move on and stand over her body. Now, create a new save slot and manually save the game at this point. After you’ve done that, reload the game using the save point that you just created.
You’ll find that Sasquatch is still on the floor beneath you. However, this time around, she won’t be dead but wouldn’t be able to move either. You can easily take her out again and get the same rewards that you got earlier for beating her. You can repeat this process over and over again to essentially farm infinite eddies, XP, and street cred.
Not only that, but you can also up your difficulty level to very hard and get even greater rewards. Just make sure to turn your difficulty back down once you’re satisfied with how filthy rich you’ve just become.
What to do with all this money though?
Now that you’re the richest guy in Night City, you need to make use of it to become the most powerful and the flashiest guy in town as well. The world of Cyberpunk 2077 is filled with stuff to buy and since now you have unlimited cash, you can literally buy anything. Don’t waste it all on brain dances though.
Getting a good weapon should be your top priority and with infinite cash, you can essentially upgrade and craft any weapon you want. You can also buy tons of different cyberware from Ripperdoc to improve your cybernetic abilities. And how can we forget cars. You can now purchase the best cars in the game and call them whenever you need to drive over to a location in style.
Cyberpunk 2077 is getting frequent hotfix updates
After the messy launch, CDProjektRed has gone into overdrive mode to fix Cyberpunk 2077 as soon as possible. The company has released multiple hotfixes on consoles, PC, and Stadia as well that have ironed a lot of bugs, glitches, and performance issues with the game. For instance, a bug corrupted your save file if it got bigger than 8 MB, which is pretty easy to do if you’re into crafting.
Thankfully, CDPR has fixed this issue with the latest Hotfix 1.06. We can expect CDPR to release more of these hotfixes in the coming weeks and some of them may even patch out the infinite money exploits that we’ve mentioned earlier. So, if you’re looking to use any of these methods for infinite cash in Cyberpunk 2077, do it fast or you could miss the train.
As for the big patches, CDProjektRed has promised that Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting two major patches, especially for last-gen consoles at the start of 2021 that will hopefully fix most of the performance issues with the game. However, since the framerates on both consoles are abysmally bad, we’re not sure if CDPR is capable of really ‘fixing’ them within 2 months.
Having said that, the developer has done it before for the Witcher 3, which was also launched in a pretty rough state on the base Xbox One and PS4 consoles. Nevertheless, Cyberpunk 2077 continues to be a fascinating case study for an incredible game with great potential ruined by poor management and decisions.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now out for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and Google Stadia. You can check it out right here.
