Google has recently made its Gemini chatbot accessible on iPhone, offering users a convenient way to engage with the AI assistant directly from their homescreen or using the Action Button. While Gemini has been available on Android through a dedicated app, iPhone users previously had to navigate through the main Google app to access the chatbot, which could be a bit tedious for frequent users.

However, thanks to the efforts of Matt Sephton, a game developer at Playdate, a new shortcut has been discovered that allows iPhone users to easily launch Gemini without having to go through multiple steps in the Google app. By creating a new shortcut in the Shortcuts app and using the deeplink “googleapp://robin”, users can quickly access Gemini with just a tap.

To add the Gemini icon to your homescreen, you can customize the shortcut with a different name and icon. Additionally, iPhone 15 Pro users can assign this shortcut to the Action Button for even quicker access to Gemini. This workaround provides a seamless way for iPhone users to interact with Gemini until a dedicated app is released for iOS.

The convenience of having Gemini just a tap away on your iPhone homescreen makes it easier than ever to engage with Google’s AI chatbot. With this new shortcut, iPhone users can streamline their interactions with Gemini and enjoy a more seamless experience on their devices.
