Dubai – The city of the future is famous for its tall buildings, sports car, hover taxis, 3D printed buildings, Mars simulation city etc. The City is always ahead in developing and utilizing different kinds of technologies and has emerged as a global city for business in the Middle East.
It might be the time to consider enlisting in the police department and moving to Dubai, as the Dubai police are well known for patrolling in sports cars like Lamborghini or Bugatti. The police force is already equipped futuristic techs like autonomous drones and little robocops.
Recently the law authorization announced the addition of a new ride in the form of a hoverbike. This automobile is originally known as “HoverSurf Scorpion 3” which looks like a cross between a Drone and motorcycle and feels straight outta Star Wars.
This Hoverbike is built by a Russian Drone startup company and was revealed this year. Dubai police will be the first to utilize this technology, later these bikes might actually also become available for Russian Police in next three years.
This new innovation was unveiled in Dubai by the City’s Police at the Gitex 2017, a global technology exhibition which happened this year at the World Trade Center.

The Hover Bike demonstrated is still a prototype but the police force has signed a memorandum with the Hover Surf developers for the mass production of this technology.
The Hoversurf will especially be programmed for the Dubai police to fly at a maximum height of 16.4 feet (5 meters) and has a maximum speed of 44 miles per hour (70 km/h). This bike can be operated for about 25 minutes on a single charge.
According to Alexander Atamanov, the CEO of Hoversurf, these bikes have actually set a world record of flying at a height of 93.5 feet (28.5 meters). But as the Saif Saleem Al Kaabi from the technical innovation section at Dubai explained to Gulf News that for safety purpose these bikes will be programmed to fly at just five meters which is enough for the usual operations that the officers will be performing.
The Hoversurf can hold up to 300 kg (660 lbs) and is also capable of flying autonomously for up to 6 kilometers (4 miles). While this is an impressive piece of technology the police department only intends to use this bike in emergency situations where it requires them to move quickly over heavy traffic.
The technology is moving towards future at a very rapid pace and there are even more technologies to come this year. By seeing all this it seems like the sci-fi future is not far enough from today.
