The latest flagship of OnePlus checks almost all the boxes of a perfect smartphone but what really makes OnePlus 5T stand out from other flagship smartphones is its affordable price; the phone costs only about $500 in the US.
Without any doubts, this is the best budget smartphone of 2017 which offers all top of the line specs and also follows the latest design trend with its edge to edge display, which is one of the things that the earlier OnePlus 5 lacked.
You might be thinking that the company must have made some compromises to make the phone fit in the $500 price range, but this is not the case with the OnePlus 5T. It does lack features like wireless charging and water resistance but that is something you should not worry about.
First, let’s talk about the design of the device, the company has aligned its flagship phone to the latest trend with the edge to edge 6.01 inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The front is made up of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and the back is all metallic with a fingerprint sensor placed on the top middle section.
The display is an AMOLED 1080p panel made by Samsung which produces some really great saturation and contrast level. OnePlus seems to stick with the 1080p display to get more battery life and I guess that’s okay considering there isn’t a notable difference between a 1080p and a 1440p display.
The phone is powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 processor with a configuration option of 6 Gigabytes or 8 Gigabytes of Ram. With 8 GB variant you get 128 Gigs of internal storage and with the 6 GB variant you get 64 Gigs of internal storage. The phone provides buttery smooth performance with no lags at all this is all thanks to the Oxygen PS which I’m a big fan of since it provides near stock Android experience with some added features for personal customizations.
On the back there is a dual camera setup, the primary lens is a 16 megapixel shooter and the secondary is a 20 megapixel telephoto lens. The portrait mode produces some really great shot with a shallow depth of field. Overall the camera performs pretty well in normal light conditions, however, the low light shots are slightly off the point.
The best thing about this phone is that it still has a headphone jack considering it is really slim and measures at 7.3 millimeters. Another interesting feature is that it has face unlock feature and it is super fast and when I say super fast I mean it. It is almost 5 times faster than that iPhone X, of course, it is not that secure but that is why the company have also offered a fingerprint option giving you the freedom to choose the security type.
So if you want to grab a phone that offers it all then OnePlus 5T might be the best budget friendly choice. What do you think about it? Tell us in the comment section below.
