In a world where the network speed is of utmost importance to most people, routers play a vital role in delivering a smooth network performance. When it comes to routers, not every router is capable of such. But fear not, for the D-Link AC3200 Ultra Wi-Fi DIR-890L/R Router is more than capable of being the best value for money in the price range it comes. It is available for just $150 on Newegg, which means it isn’t hard on the pocket!

The design is pretty eye catching, which is completely unique as compared to other outers. From a distance, it might seem to be as if you are looking at a drone. Its amazingly beautiful, with sprouting six antennas.

Though the antennas are not replaceable, which means you cannot exchange them for high-gain ones. It measures 15.2 by 9.7 by 4.7 inches, and is huge comparatively. It was declared as the best router of 2015, by PCMAG. Though these are not the only reasons why you should opt for this:

Ultimate Wi-Fi Performance:

Tired of waiting for all that ‘buffering’? Fear not for you can stream high definition content from anywhere connected to your network without interruptions of any sort. It has the world’s fastest Wi-Fi speeds of upto600Mbps (2.4GHz) + 1300Mbps (5Ghz) + 1300Mbps (5Ghz) This essentially means, that you can enjoy lag free gaming, your favorite video conferencing app and even 4k media streaming right across your home network.

Moreover, it is powered by a 1 GHz Dual Core processor, therefore providing all the processing power needed to support simultaneous devices and apps in your home. Not only this but it has Gigabit Ethernet Ports, which means that you can have the best quality wired internet connection for your devices.

Management:

The router seems to be quite easy to install and also supports WPS Push Button setup, by which you can connect your device without entering a pin. Further, there is a Quick Router Setup app which can be used as an easy setup app for smartphones and tablets.

Access:

The router has one USB 2.0 port along with a USB 3.0 port, which can be used to access your stored files, across your devices. Further by using the ‘SharePort’ utility one can easily share a scanner and a USB printer over the home network. Moreover, the router is DLNA compatible, which enables you to play and share your media across any DLNA device, such as your television or gaming console.

Range:

Instead of the usual one or two antennas the D-Link AC3200 Ultra Wi-Fi router boasts six powerful antennas, which means a longer range due to signal amplification. Furthermore, due to use of the 11AC technology instead of the Wireless N, one,  the router is able to extend its wireless range even further.

This leads to a better Wi-Fi coverage all around your place, and ensures that there are no ‘dead-zones’, the ones you can’t access your wireless network around.

Security:

The router is capable of parental control settings ensuring your child only visits websites you can monitor easily. Moreover it is also capable of creating public or encrypted wireless guest network. Furthermore, due to secure Wi-Fi encryption, you are assured of your Wi-Fi security.

Performance:

The router uses a Tri-Band technology, which decreases interference and congestion by other wireless devices, allowing more users on a home network than usual.

Not only this but it also has band steering in which a lesser used 5 GHz band is designed to devices to increase the overall bandwidth availability and efficiency. Due to a unique BeamForming technology, wireless signal strength and range is improved impressively.

Our Verdict:

Clearly, under the price tag at which this router is offered, this is a must have for those who are looking for an inexpensive router with a high quality experience and time-less streaming!
