Best Budget Friendly Gaming Laptops Under $500

Finding a budget gaming laptop can get really confusing these days as there are tons of options available in the market and if you don’t have the right knowledge you might end up investing your money in the wrong piece of hardware. But don’t worry as we have got you covered, we tested out a number of budget gaming laptops to find the ones that deliver the best gaming performance for the price. Lenovo IdeaPad 330:

At number 5 on the list is the Lenovo IdeaPad 330 which you can get for just under $400. This laptop is not just a great gaming machine but is also a great laptop for editing and work. The build quality and design of it is pretty solid for the price, it does have a plastic body but the plastic used here feels nice and with the metal color coating outside which gives a premium look.

The display is not the best part of this laptop, it is quite poor when it comes to quality but gets the job done for the most part. It is a 15.6 inch HD LED panel that looks decent overall but considering 2018 standard it doesn’t quite cut it with this poor viewing angles and low sharpness.

The specs on this are actually great, you get the Intel Core i3 8130U processor paired up with 8 Gigabytes of RAM and 512 Gigabyte SSD. The main key attractions here are the 8th Gen i3 CPU and the SSD which is something that you won’t find laptops at this price point.

Most low to mid ranges will run great at 1080p resolution with 60+ FPS. All in all, this is a really good option for casual gamers or if you have just started gaming.

Acer Aspire 3:

Next up at number 4, we have Acer Aspire 3 for $350. The Acer Aspire 3 is one of the newer entries in the company’s Aspire lineup. This laptop is the one that you should definitely consider buying. The build quality of the laptop is great but this one also has a plastic chassis but feels quite solid and rigid. It has got a texturized finish which gives it a quite unique and attractive look.

The display on this is also pretty cool, like the IdeaPad 330 it also has a 15.6 inch HD LED panel that even though having the same specs looks a lot better with accurate colors and better viewing angles.

Moving on to the specs of this laptop, it is powered by the AMD Ryzen 3 2200U along with processor 8 Gigabytes of RAM and 1 Terabyte hard drive. With these specs, gaming is actually doable to a good extent and the internal GPU is also better than on the Intel side.

Lenovo IdeaPad 320:

The number three on the list is the Lenovo IdeaPad 320 which is a popular budget gaming laptop that offers some pretty impressive features at $400. The build quality and design on this is nice. It comes in a mostly plastic build but has a metal type finish that makes it look
premium. Also, the laptop is not too thick and heavy.

The display on the laptop here is a 15.6 inch 768p LED panel which is decent for the most part but the viewing angles and sharpness could have been better. It is still usable for media consumption and gaming.

Under the hood it comes loaded with AMD A12-9720P processor, 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB hard drive. You also get a nice GPU here which is the AMD Radeon R7 that delivers solid graphics performance for a budget laptop and is be good for gaming at 720p.

Dell Inspiron 5575:

Moving on at number two on the list is the Dell Inspiron 5575 which is a new contender in the budget gaming laptop segment and for $480 it is a really good option. The build quality and design of this laptop is the best on this list, it has a metal build which at this price is really surprising.

It has a more premium look and feel, the design itself is also pretty unique in its own right and using it is a joy. The display on this is a 15.6 inch Full HD LED panel that is way better than any display up till this point in this list even though it isn’t the best display for this price it is still quite great for gaming and media streaming.

The specs on this include AMD Ryzen 52500U CPU, 8 Gigabytes of RAM, 1 terabyte hard drive and the Radeon Vega 8 graphics. The gaming performance with this is great and here you should be able to play most games even recent AAA titles with decent frame rates so make sure to check out this laptop.

Acer Aspire 5:

Finally at number one on the list is the Acer Aspire 5 which costs just over $500 offer some of the best value for the price. The build quality and design of the laptop is good it comes in a fully plastic build with a texturized matte finish on the back along with some metal accents that look neat.

Overall it looks and feels good and is also nicely sized as well. The display on this is 15.6 inches full HD LED panel that looks surprisingly good. You get accurate colors and contrast but poor viewing angles and therefore it should be good for gaming and even a bit of editing.

The performance of the laptop is excellent it is powered by the Intel Core i5 8250 CPU paired up with 8 Gigabytes of RAM and 256 Gigabytes. The Nvidia Geforce MX 150 GPU delivers some great gaming performance and combined with these specs you will be to do some solid 1080p gaming.
