After today’s PlayStation State of Play livestream by Sony, Microsoft had to counter that with their own show. Inside Xbox, therefore, started just a couple of hours after the PlayStation show. However, unlike State of Play, Inside Xbox is a longer show with a deeper dive into what’s coming to Xbox later. Before the show, Microsoft promised plenty of news regarding The Outer Worlds, Project xCloud, Xbox Game Pass and other new games. So, let’s take a look at everything revealed by Microsoft during Inside Xbox.
1. Atlas
Starting off the show, we got Atlas, which is a new pirate & fantasy themed game due to release on October. According to Microsoft, the game is completely different from Sea of Thieves and brings a much different vibe and gameplay to the Xbox game collection. Atlas will also come with cross-play between PC on Xbox on day one of release, with no difference between either version.
2. Children of Morta
After Atlas, we got to see a rogue-like action RPG game called Children of Morta. The game has 6 different playable characters, which you can change on the fly in between dungeon runs. All characters have their own skill sets and RPG-like upgrades which you can unlock and apply. The inventory system has also been changed and instead of a traditional inventory, you find different items with unique buffs during your dungeon runs. The dungeons, much like other rogue-like games, are procedurally generated and are different during each separate run.
Children of Morta is out right now on Xbox One, PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
3. Project xCloud
Video Game streaming is arguably the future. However, there are still a lot of hurdles that need to be crossed in order for it to become a viable, like latency and bandwidth restrictions. Project xCloud is Microsoft’s go at the video game streaming market and will go head to head against Google Stadia and other similar services.
During Inside Xbox, Microsoft finally announced that the public preview for Project xCloud will be rolling out next month in 3 different regions. Xbox players in the US, UK and Korea can head to this link to sign up for the project xCloud preview. The preview includes games like Gears 5, Halo 5: Guardians. Killer Instinct and Sea of Thieves. You’ll need an android device and an Xbox Controller in order to access the Project xCloud preview.
4. Xbox Game Pass
Xbox Game Pass has been a massive success for Microsoft, providing some of the best value for money with some amazing games for subscribers. We already have big exclusives like Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4 on Xbox Game Pass. However, on Inside Xbox, some new additions to the service were announced by Microsoft.
Some of the new additions to Xbox Game Pass include Jump Force, Genesis Noire, Dirt Rally 2.0, Lonely Mountains: Downhill, Cities Skylines and Saints Row 4: Reelected.
5. Code Vein
Set in a post-apocalyptic dystopia, Code Vein follows anime zombies fight each other over dwindling blood supplies. Code Vein is very much like a Dark Souls game and therefore, depends on the player’s ability to dodge and time attacks perfectly to bring down some seriously hard enemies and bosses.
Code Vein comes out on September 27, 2019 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
6. The Outer Worlds
One of the most anticipated games coming out soon to Xbox is The Outer Worlds. Made by Obsidian Entertainment, the developers of Fallout: New Vegas, The Outer Worlds is a Sci-Fi open world RPG game that delves into some wacky world ravaged by extreme capitalism.
The hostile world of The Outer Worlds is full of strange monsters, diverse environments and futuristic cities. Much like Fallout: New Vegas, the game has different character perks, a plethora of weapons and some very multi-dimensional characters.
The Outer Worlds is coming out on October 25, 2019 on Xbox One, PC and PS4 and will be available on release day to all Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
7. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
During Inside Xbox, we also got another look at the next entry in the Ghost Recon series called Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. The beta for the game starts on September 26th and you can jump in and pre-load it right now to get in on some early action. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is an open world first person shooter game with a massive open world, daily unique missions, and for the first time in the series, a PVP game mode.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint comes out on October 4, 2019 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Other than that, we also got some news related to Hitman 2, Afterparty, Felix The Reaper and Ace Combat 7.
