Even though it’s been a long time since the Ps4‘s been out, the console is still going strong in the market, it’s pretty much dominating the console war for this generation. There’s a reason for the console’s amazing performance and it’s not really related that much to the features or the software it provides, its the games on the console.
Sony has gotten a reputation for having amazing titles exclusive to the Ps4 such as The Last of Us, the Uncharted games, Bloodborne, and much more. Apart from the exclusives, there are a bunch of other games as well that are must-play which don’t even cost that much either. With that being said, here are some of the best Ps4 games you can play for just under $20:
The Last Of Us: Remastered
Even though this game is a remastered version of a Ps3 game, not many people had a Ps3 back then. Moreover, the game is so good and the remaster is so well done that even if you’ve played it before, it’s worth playing again. The game does not really feature a multiplayer and is largely known for its great single-player story and gameplay.
Currently going for just $19.99, the game is a classic PS exclusive and ranks among the top story-driven games out there. The story has everything you would want from it and it will likely make you cry towards the end as well. Also, if you saw The Last Of Us: Part 2’s E3 reveal and were impressed by what you saw, it’s best to get the first part now so you can familiarize yourself with the story and characters, else you might feel lost. You can buy the game from Amazon here.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
If you’re a fan of the Uncharted Series, it’s highly likely that you’re going to love this game as well. The game is primarily set in a time where our main protagonist Nathan has put the days of searching for treasure in dangerous places behind him as he looks to lead a more normal life now.
However, things change pretty quickly as Nate and his brother Sam team up for one last hurrah. The story is decent and the gameplay is really fun as well. Overall, it’s one of the better PS exclusives you’ll find out there. The game also takes into account players who may have never played any Uncharted game before as it introduces players to both the main characters in the game.
Although you will have to spend more than $20 for this game if you want a new copy ($27), you can still get a used one for $19.95. There’s no real reason to get a new copy of the game at this point because again, this game’s sole focus is single-player so you’ll likely want to resell it after finishing the story. You can buy it from Amazon here.
Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor Game of the Year Edition
You don’t really need to explain a game’s credentials to someone when it has a GOTY edition, bad games don’t get Game of the Year. If you’re a Lord of the Rings fan, then you’ll absolutely love this game. The game’s events themselves take place between the events of The Hobbit and The Lords of the Rings.
Shadow of Mordor is great because not only does it have a decent story, it’s also backed up by great gameplay. The combat in this game is really smooth and every kill seems satisfying. You could ignore the story altogether and just free-roam going around killing Uruks and you probably won’t get bored.
You get to unlock a lot of skills as you progress further into the game which really makes your moves a lot more effective and cooler. The GOTY edition also includes 2 DLC, one of which is The Bright Lord DLC, which in itself is amazing. You also get to use a ring of power in this DLC and it’s everything you’d imagine it to be, this game is a must-have at just $19.99 for the new game and $18.81 for a used copy. You can purchase it from Amazon here.
BloodBorne
There’s not much you can say about this game, if you know who the creators of the game are, then you’ll know that the game is in safe hands. From the developers that are responsible for Dark Souls, Bloodborne is another Ps4 exclusive that might be responsible for your next controller break, but it’s also really fun.
Knowing that the game’s been developed by the creators of the Dark Souls series, you’ll either love it or hate it, as the game’s just as difficult, if not more. The game will punish you, it will challenge you, it will probably frustrate you as well given how hard these type of games tend to be, however, the journey the game offers is worth it.
The game has a compelling story to it and it’s definitely more memorable than the rest of the Souls games. The game has a knack for making tense moments really intense and it has great replay value as well. Apart from that, this game is perhaps the best value of money from all the games on this list because it’ll take you at least 40 hours to fully explore this game.
At just under $20, 40 hours of gameplay, more depending on your skill or how often you play the game is truly a bargain, thus making this game a must-have. You can get a digital code for the game from Amazon here for under $20, there are also physical game options on the site too if you prefer physical copies of the game in the same prices. Good luck!
