The video game Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has undergone an update that includes adding a new gameplay feature called Inner Discipline and a series of bug fixes and other modifications. This update was released around two weeks after the previous patch, version 1.05, which had implemented some changes to the game, such as making the Zhang Liang boss fight more accessible by introducing a tutorial and decreasing his health points in the initial phase to make it less challenging.
Known for creating outstanding Souls-like games, Team Ninja has developed Wo Long as their latest and most complex addition to this genre. Despite being renowned for its long-running Dead or Alive fighting game series, the studio collaborated with Square Enix to create Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. Although Wo Long has generally been well-received, it has some balancing issues and flaws that Team Ninja aims to address through consistent updates. The release of the 1.06 patch marks the fourth update since the game was launched on March 3, 2023.
Inner Discipline in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has some restrictions, such as its inability to be used during player recruitment or invasion. Moreover, buffs from Elixir and Burial Flag will still have an effect exceeding the limit. To use Inner Discipline, players must navigate to the Battle Flag menu and opt for “Battle Preparation.”
Team Ninja has taken notice of a bug preventing players from obtaining the “Great Gatherings” achievement in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which requires players to use every Reinforcement character in the game at least once. In response, a handshake icon will appear next to the character’s name in the Reinforcement menu to help players confirm if they have fulfilled the achievement’s requirements. This issue has been addressed in the latest patch notes following players’ inquiries about it.
Inner Discipline feature lets players set a maximum Morale Rank limit for battles. Players can find this feature under the Battle Flag menu’s Battle Preparation tab and adjust the limit. This function prevents players from exceeding the limit when earning Morale Points through defeating enemies or performing Fatal Strikes. However, it won’t be available during Recruit and Invade sessions. Additionally, players can still benefit from the Elixir and Burial Flag buffs that increase Morale Rank even if they’ve reached the limit.
This update also includes an improvement to the Reinforcements menu that adds a handshake icon beside the names of companions who have accompanied players at least once. This change assists players in tracking their progress toward unlocking the “Great Gatherings” trophy. Despite this, Team Ninja has been notified by some players that they have met all the requirements for the trophy, yet they still have not obtained it. Therefore, the developers urge players to contact customer support for further aid. They express gratitude for the players’ comprehension and cooperation in resolving this matter.
Other introduced features include icons displayed on the minimap to assist players in finding the Immortal Wizard Zuo Ci and Blacksmith Zhu Xia. The tutorial section under Documents has also been updated to include Set Bonus and Inner Discipline.
Several significant bug fixes aim at resolving multiple problems that impacted players’ gameplay. The fixes include resolving crashes in certain environments, fixing bugs that allowed players to go beyond the stage boundaries from certain locations, and correcting instances where characters became stuck in certain locations, preventing players from progressing.
Another major fix prevents players from repeatedly dying in certain stages by continually respawning at the same point where they fell to their death. The latest Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty update resolves numerous issues affecting players’ gameplay experience. These include a bug that allowed ranged attacks to bypass walls and enemies to detect players through them, a bug that caused progress after defeating bosses to not save properly, and a bug that prevented players from locking on Fengxi.
Additionally, the update fixes a problem with demonized Sun Jian leaving the designated battlefield area in “Darkness over the Hanshui River.” These bug fixes aim to improve the gameplay experience and eliminate frustrating situations that hinder player progress.
The software update resolved several issues in the game, including bugs in drop rewards for certain terracotta soldiers, a wider field of view for some Shuigui, a narrower field of view for a specific bandit, Morale Rank decrease issues, glowing doors, failure of demonized warlocks to appear, failure of players to return to the entrance of an area during a boss battle, failure of action inputs to register during the ending sequences, demonized officers getting stuck in the ground, critical blows by Zhuyan and Dong Zhuo, incorrect damage values during Fengxi’s charging attack, the invincibility of Corpse Demons, early recovery of demonized Sun Jian, failure of Lu Bu to ride Red Hare and trophy/achievement acquisition issues.
The update also fixed issues with excessive processing load, guest player detection, inaccessible locations during multiplayer sessions, loss of Genuine Qi, non-respawning enemies, item acquisition during Invade sessions, incorrect calculation of Fastest Completion Time, loss of Spell Points during wizardry spell selection, distortion of character model images, and flickering in certain locations when applying the Bloom filter in Photograph mode.
