Activision has officially announced the addition of the Gun Game mode to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 which is set to arrive with the launch of Season 2 on February 15th.
Significant updates are expected soon, as the studio has been steadily revealing the new content coming to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. For instance, in Season 2 of Warzone 2, players will have access to three-plate armor vests as a standard feature. According to Activision, Modern Warfare 2 will get new maps, modes, and adjustments to the bonus and ultimate perk unlocking pace. Several leaks have suggested that popular game modes like Cranked and Plunder may soon be included in the title. Activision has already revealed that Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 will have a new game mode.
The Gun Game mode was introduced by Activision in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Each participant starts the game with a handgun, upgrading to a more powerful weapon with each successful kill. A player who kills someone in melee, however, loses a rank. Once a player has used all 20 guns and achieved a melee kill, the game is over.
Following the return of Infected mode, Gun Game is set to be included in Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2. This addition of multiple game modes aims to enhance the variety of gameplay and offer a fresh experience for players of Modern Warfare 2. Gun Game mode emphasizes aggressive play and sets itself apart from other games with its fast-paced nature.
The gaming community has been making predictions on which party game modes might come back, with One in the Chamber and Prop Hunt receiving the most support. Despite this, there is still much to be disclosed about Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the possibility of additional, much-anticipated modes being added remains.
It looks like Call of Duty will be featuring more highly-regarded game modes. A dataminer recently uncovered assets within the code of Modern Warfare 2 that clearly suggest the addition of both the Gunfight and Gun Game multiplayer modes.
Both Gunfight and Gun Game have established themselves as popular game modes. Gun Game has a long history, first introduced in 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, while Gunfight, which made its first appearance in Modern Warfare in 2019, is also well-liked, with its fast-paced, close-quarters battles and randomized weapons loadouts.
Modern Warfare 2’s lack of content has drawn criticism, but Season 2 is expected to be a significant update for the game. The addition of additional game modes has been confirmed, even though the precise alterations have yet to be disclosed. Although the list of maps included in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 is presently unknown, leaked information suggests that the Valderas Museum map from the MW2 beta may return.
Since the release of Modern Warfare 2 in October, gamers have had access to private custom lobbies for Gun Games, but it has not been made publicly available. This may change in the future, as Infinity Ward promised a Gunfight playlist as early as June 2022, along with the unveiling of Prisoner Rescue and Knockout, two new modes introduced before the launch of the game.
