Hot on the heels of a leak about Apple’s new iPhones, Samsung has started 2017 by released three new smartphones. The South Korean technology behemoth has unveiled a new Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7.
All three phones are water and dust resistant. All of them have metal frames, along with the 3D glass back which was first introduced in the designs for the popular Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The new phones give consumers a choice of sizes, with the A3 coming in a 4.7 inches, the A5 being 5.2 inches and the A7 is the largest design, with a size of 5.7 inches.
While they are not in the shops yet, consumers can preorder the new phones from January 20 onwards. Samsun Electronics’ DJ Koh said that the firm was committed to making sure its customers had the “most advanced products on the market”. He added that the new Galaxys had all of the design features customers had come to love, as well as enhanced performance.
The Galaxy A comes in a choice of four colors – described as Black Sky, Peach Cloud, Blue Mist and Gold Sand. Samsung’s Galaxy has become renowned for the quality of its camera, and the new devices are no exception. There are enhanced front and rear 16 megapixel cameras, which Samsung says have better autofocus to create more vibrant, clearer images.
Tapping into the trend for consumers to take images of themselves which in such settings as pubs and nightclubs, Samsung also says that Selfies can be taken in low lighting conditions. The Galaxy A3, however, is not quite such a high spec, with a 13 megapixel rear camera and eight mega pixel front facing camera.
With food imagery having become more popular, as users post images on social media of what they are making as part of health kicks, or their meals in restaurants, Samsung Galaxy As will also have a Food Mode to optimize colours.
