Prince Harry and his girlfriend, the Suits actress Meghan Markle, share a passion for charity work. And Ms Markle has now thrown her weight behind a campaign to demand that girls are brought out of poverty through education.
In an open letter, signed by leading female entrepreneurs and celebrities, world leaders are called upon to take action now to improve access to education for girls. The letter has been signed by Ms Markle, along with fellow actresses Blake Lively and Charlize Theron, as well as the YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg. Musician Lady Gaga has also signed.
The open letter has been put together by the ONE Campaign as part of its Poverty is Sexist campaign. It says that every girl should be able to attend school and to get a good education. Meghan, 35, is already well known for her charity work. She is currently a United Nations women’s advocate for Political Participation and Leadership as well as being an ambassador for the Canadian charity World Vision.

Meanwhile, her boyfriend Prince Harry is also renowned for working with charities across the world. He founded Sentable, after the loss of his mother Princess Diana. It is a charity which provides help for youngsters living with HIV in Southern Africa, which was a cause clause to the Princess of Wales’ heart. Also, the fifth in line to the throne is a founding patron of the Invictus Games.
However, it is not all work for the caring couple. The pair have recently taken their first holiday together as a twosome, heading to Norway to see the spectacular Northern Lights. They also went out on whale watching trips. According to a source close to the couple, Prince Harry was keen to do something memorable for their first vacation together.
