Try Disabling proxy servers

Chances are that the Rockstar datacentre might restrict your connection. One reason could be your proxy connection. Due to this, your game might not work properly on online game mode. You can disable proxy servers and resume playing the game smoothly. Follow the steps below to disable proxy servers on your PC for GTA V:

  • Press Win+R to launch the Run command prompt on PC
  • Type inetcpl.cpl and hit enter. It will open internet properties
  • Go to the Connections tab
  • Select LAN settings from the menu
  • You will find proxy servers check box, disable them if you are using proxy servers
  • save the settings and restart GTA V to resolve services unavailable error

Check your Internet Connection, Configure NAT, and QoS services

The reason you are seeing this error could be due to an internet connection issue. Your connection might be weak or unstable. You need to turn off your router and restart it again. Simply press the power button behind the router. Wait for 5-10 seconds and restart it again. This will help to reset the data connection and provide good signal strength. You can also disable WIFI from idle or unused devices to reduce the load on the router.

You also need to configure advanced router settings. A restricted connection can also be the cause for service unavailable issue. You can resolve this by changing NAT and QoS type. Strict NAT type won’t allow you to have a secure connection with the game servers.

For this, you need to change it from Strict to open. You can do this from the settings menu of your router home page. Login to your router home page. Look for the UPnP option and enable it. Save the settings and restart the router. Now your NAT is open and you can play the game without any error or issues online.

You also need to set a preference for bandwidth. This could be done by prioritizing GTA V from QoS settings. Basically, QoS provides maximum bandwidth to the desired process. If you saw this error, it could be due to your game getting low bandwidth. So in order to change the priority, go to the router setting and look for QoS. Enable the option and give GTA V high priority, Sva the settings and restart your router.

Configure DNS settings

Switching to Google DNS is very useful. It will help in a secure connection. Changing DNS also help in online gaming without any error or disruption. If you face such a connection issue, switch to Google DNS. Follow the steps below to change the DNS settings:

  • Open the Control Panel and click on the option ‘Network and Internet’.
  • Then click on ‘Network and Sharing Center’ and then click the option of ‘Change Adapter Settings’.
  • Right-click the ‘Network Interface’ and select ‘Properties’.
  • Select and check the Internet protocol version and click the properties option.
  • Enter and digits in the menu boxes given
  • Click the Advanced button and then the DNS tab and then select the add button
  • Specify the alternate DNS server addresses and click the add button and then close it.

As soon as you will finish this, the system will run the DNS settings you have chosen. This step will surely help to fix the problem.

These were some of the methods that would be helpful in solving the issue. But if you are still facing this error, then immediately lodge a complaint to the support team of GTA 5. They will look into this issue and identify the root cause of the problem.
