Ghost of Tsushima is an immensely detailed solo action game with bloody and ancient combat featuring different classes of fighters; Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and the Assassin. The game quickly gained popularity due to what it had to offer. Gamers were thrilled to see a samurai in combat with kunai, standoffs, and other amazing attributes which could be seen in the game.
Shortly after its release, the studio decided to bring forth a multiplayer version of the game which they named Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, in which players all around the world could enjoy team and solo modes in an entirely different story. In this version, players were free to choose between different classes once they have unlocked them and had the opportunity to upgrade their Ghosts to better equip them for fights of various difficulties.
However, games that feature online modes come with problems, and Ghost of Tsushima: Legends was not free of them as well. The online version was first available for free to those who possessed the original Ghost of Tsushima solo campaign. However, following the growing popularity, the developers decided to have a standalone release of the game. This excited the fans who now had a chance to play the online multiplayer mode without purchasing the solo campaign. Recently, in March’s lineup of free PS Plus games, Sony rewarded PS Plus owners by putting Ghost of Tsushima: Legends in the month’s free games. The game’s downloads increased drastically and along came some issues as well.
One of the biggest issues of the game came to light when the PS Plus version was released. Players who redeemed the PS Plus version of the game were not able to upgrade the Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut to the PS5 version. The problem reported was that when the players tried to upgrade the game, the store was not allowing them with the reason that they already own the “Ghost DC Trial Tracker” which was the name given to the Legends mode at first. The store was mistaking Ghost of Tsushima: Legends as part of the Director’s Cut which inevitably prevented players from upgrading the game at low rates. Ever since PS5 was released, players have been opting for the cheaper upgrade from PS4 to PS5 versions of different games which is a smart move. However, when this issue emerged they were disappointed that they had to buy the game at the actual price again on PS5. Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this problem but Sony has reportedly fixed it.
Apart from this, there have been other problems in-game that troubled the players:
“There is no content” error:
Players have been experiencing a no-content error in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends where the game takes them to a blank screen and does not let them access the final DLC of the game. The error says:
“There is no content. It might not be for sale yet, or might no longer be for sale.”
The game will prevent the users from accessing the DLC even after they have purchased it from the store and will repeatedly give the same message.
To fix this issue, the region for the base game and the Legends DLC must be the same. This issue is only troubling those who are using two different region accounts for both of the items. If the Ghost of Tsushima base game is purchased from a UK region account while the Legends DLC is purchased from a US region account, this problem would occur.
There is a simple fix for this issue. Since Legends is a free update, players can easily purchase it from a different account which is the same one as the base game. After downloading it, restart the game and the error message will no longer appear.
Game Crashes
Another issue that came along with the release of the game was that it was crashing and the players had no idea why. Game crashes are common with new releases and there are a bunch of ways to counter them.
- Keeping the PS4/PS5 and the game fully updated is the most common fix as developers are constantly trying to make the game and the device better respectively. Installing the latest patches will keep the crashes to a minimum.
- PS4 hard drives may also be causing the problem. There are times when the crashes are not from the game but the console’s storage device. If a player is experiencing crashes on multiple games, then it is a good chance that they need to get the hard drive checked.
- Data corruption can also trigger crashes. Any data file which gets corrupted will cause the game to stop working. A simple and only fix is to delete and reinstall the game.
- If players are encountering a progression bug, then saving the game manually can be extremely beneficial. Manual saves from time to time can prevent the player from losing his progress.
Stuck at the loading screen
Some players have reported that their game gets stuck at the loading screen. This issue is usually random and can be solved by simply restarting the game. However, if it occurs a series of times, it may be possible that there is some issue with the files. Deleting and reinstalling the game will fix this issue.
Progress Loss
This problem has been bothering those who have been playing the game on PS5. The devs have released a new update named Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut which features the Iki Island Expansion Pack and other physical content. This new update, even though was exciting news but interfered with the progress of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. Players have reported that when transferring the data from PS4 to PS5, their progress is getting lost. This turned out to be a huge problem for those who had progressed a lot. There is a solution to this problem that has been useful for many players. Unfortunately, this fix requires a working PS4 and a PS Plus subscription to work.
- Firstly, download Ghost of Tsushima: Legends on the PS4 from the same account as the PS5 which has PS Plus.
- Use your PS5 and upload the progress of Legends from PS5 to the PS Plus cloud.
- After the upload is complete, download the saved progress onto the PS4 version of the game which was just downloaded.
- Check to see if the game is working properly on the PS4 after downloading the progress.
- After doing all of the above steps, the next one is to delete the saved progress from both consoles. Although it is risky it is vital for the upcoming steps as the PS5 needs to be cleaned of the previous progress so that new progress can be uploaded. Now, open the PS5 and go to the cloud, deleting the saved data of the game from PS4 and PS5 both.
- Then, freshly transfer the data from PS4 to PS5.
- Transfer and download the progress from the cloud to the PS5 version of the game.
- The progress will be saved and the player can enjoy both the new update and Ghost of Tsushima Legends.
SuckerPunch has always provided the players with splendid series of games that have gained popularity very quickly. The top titles are Sly Cooper and the Infamous series. Both of these games have been the fan favorite in their time. The idea of Sly Cooper and the animations along with the game mechanics were fun and catchy whereas the combat and wide skill area of Infamous attracted the players who enjoyed action-adventure games. Lastly, Ghost of Tsushima made sold far more than SuckerPunch and Sony anticipated. Even now, the new updates are selling and gamers are still not tired of the mixture of brutality and stealth the game has to offer along with an epic storyline.
