Atomic Heart is a game that puts players in the shoes of Comrade Major P-3, tasked with exploring the secretive Facility 3826. As the game progresses and becomes an open-world adventure, players are granted the freedom to explore the vast facility and uncover various Testing Grounds.
These Testing Grounds are abandoned laboratories with valuable crafting recipes for upgrading P-3’s weaponry.
Atomic Heart’s Testing Grounds are miniature dungeons divided into three sections, each containing a chest with valuable crafting recipes.
By consulting their inventory, players can quickly locate the specific Testing Grounds that hold the recipes they need.
One of the initial Testing Grounds that players can encounter as soon as they enter the open world is Testing Ground 6. This location can be found near the Monorail Station and contains several crucial mod blueprints. However, obtaining these blueprints may be challenging for those not fond of puzzle-solving, as navigating the dungeon requires a certain degree of skill.
Atomic Heart provides players with mod blueprints that can be acquired through various means, including inside and outside the Testing Grounds. Nonetheless, the most effective upgrades are available within the underground Testing Grounds.
In these underground areas, you can find several blueprints, usually ranging from four to five, increasing their chances of obtaining a blueprint that can enhance their weapons regardless of the weapon type they want to upgrade. You may inadvertently miss the entrance to Testing Ground 6 while advancing through the main story of Atomic Heart.
To enter Testing Ground 6 in Atomic Heart, players must first access the tower marked with the number 6 and step onto the platform at its base. This platform then carries players to the tower’s peak, where they can interact with a Terminal that offers access to adjacent cameras.
You can activate the prompt that opens the entrance with the camera facing the door. You can then follow the path to the drainage pipe, leading to an elevator providing access to Testing Ground 6.
Once reaching the top of the tower by stepping onto the platform at its base, it will transport you to the tower’s peak.
At the peak, you can utilize a Terminal to gain control of nearby cameras. By utilizing the camera pointing at the entrance will activate a prompt that will open it. You can then follow the path to the drainage pipe, which leads to an elevator that provides access to Testing Ground 6.
Pressing the closest camera by R1/RB will enable you to open the tunnel’s entrance. Once opened, you can swim through the tunnel and then utilize the elevator to access Testing Ground 6.
Players must navigate a series of platforms to solve the first puzzle in Testing Ground 6 of Atomic Heart. Upon reaching the far side of the room, players will come across a red crank that can be turned to rotate the platforms. This rotation will reveal a lower platform that also possesses a red crank and an upper platform that is currently locked.
It can be unlocked by utilizing both red cranks. By turning the first crank on the far side of the room, players can rotate the media and reveal the second crank on the lower platform. Once the double crank is activated, players can use it with the first crank to unlock the door on the floor of the upper platform.
The room found is equipped with pistons, and players can locate a save room on the left and a bronze chest on the right containing the PM-Extended Mag Recipe.
Once players have looted the chest, they must ascend the stairs to reach a new room featuring a spinning turbine in the center. You must eliminate all the flying Pchela/Owl enemies to stop the turbine from spinning. After the turbine stops, you can descend through the hole in the grate and navigate the tunnels underneath the turbine to advance further.
While traversing through the tunnels, you can collect any available loot. Taking the left path at a fork in the road leads to a sequence of yellow ledges that can be used to ascend upwards. You can follow the peaceful music to find a silver chest, which, when opened, rewards them with the Kalash-Collimator Recipe.
Proceed upstairs to reach the next puzzle room, and you can find a save room on the right-hand side if you need to save your progress. In this room, it’s essential not to touch the red crank. Instead, jump onto the platform and climb the shelves that have yellow paint marks. Afterward, jump up to reach the yellow ledge and continue climbing.
Once you’ve made it onto the metal piece protruding from the wall, stand up straight and jump onto the top of the shelves. Be careful not to crouch when jumping onto the metal piece, as this could cause you to miss your jump or lose balance.
After completing the puzzle rooms in Testing Ground 6 and acquiring various valuable loot, including the Electro-Electromagnetic Emitter and Snowball-Battering Blow Recipes from a gold chest. After completing the challenges in Testing Ground 6, the next task is to utilize the elevator to reach the surface and conclude the testing ground.
