Apple is reportedly shifting its focus from electric vehicles to personal home robots, according to a recent report from Bloomberg. The tech giant’s engineers are said to be exploring the development of a robot that can follow users around their homes, as well as a tabletop device that uses robotics to adjust a display screen. This move comes after Apple made the decision to shut down its team working on electric cars, known as the Special Projects Group.

The home robot project is still in the early stages of research and development, with Apple’s hardware engineering division and its artificial intelligence and machine learning group overseeing the work. The company’s decision to pivot towards personal robotics reflects its ongoing efforts to expand into new product markets beyond its traditional offerings like the iPhone and Mac.

While Apple’s move into personal home robots may seem like a significant departure from its core business, it is not entirely unexpected. Other tech companies, such as Amazon, have also explored the potential of home robots with devices like the Astro robot. It will be interesting to see how Apple’s entry into this market will differentiate itself from competitors and what unique features its home robot will offer to consumers.

In my opinion, Apple’s foray into personal home robots represents a strategic shift for the company as it looks to diversify its product portfolio and tap into new revenue streams. The decision to abandon its electric vehicle project in favor of focusing on personal robotics shows that Apple is willing to adapt and evolve in response to changing market dynamics and consumer preferences. As technology continues to advance, the demand for innovative and user-friendly home automation devices is likely to grow, making this an exciting space for Apple to explore and potentially disrupt. I look forward to seeing how Apple’s home robot project develops and how it will ultimately impact the tech industry as a whole.
