Forza Horizon 4 has arguably been the best racing game of this generation with some of the most stunning visuals on a racing game paired with Forza Motorsport’s brilliant gameplay foundations. Even after a year of being released, the game is getting regular updates with new content being added almost every week in the form of new challenges and missions.
Forza Horizon 4 has also gotten a ton of major content updates like the massive world of Fortune Island and Lego cars. Apart from the usual races and events, Forza Horizon 4 is also packed full of exciting mini game modes like Infected. However, if those weren’t enough for you, Playground games has just announced a massive new game mode that will change the world of Forza Horizon forever.
The Eliminator is a Battle Royale mode for Forza Horizon 4
Battle Royale has been the top dog for over a couple of years now. We’ve seen the popular genre being added to most FPS and third person shooters. Even older franchises like Call of Duty, Fallout and Battlefield have made an attempt to get into the Battle Royale scene. However, most have failed to reproduce the success of Fortnite.
The last game you’d expect to have a Battle Royale mode though is a racing game. Well, Playground Games have just surprised everyone with their announcement that Battle Royale is indeed coming to Forza Horizon 4. Called The Eliminator, the game mode will come in the form of a free update for all players on December 12.
While Playground has been teasing The Eliminator for a while, no one actually knew that it was actually going to be a Battle Royale game mode.
In The Eliminator, 72 players join a game together and then race each other in pairs while also trying to remain in the circle, much like traditional Battle Royale games. During the entire thing, those who lose their respective races will keep getting eliminated until there’s one victor left.
This is a massive new addition to Forza Horizon 4 which could totally bring the game back into the spotlight. If implemented correctly, The Eliminator could actually be incredible. I mean, who doesn’t want to race towards victory against 72 other players?
The Eliminator is coming to Forza Horizon 4 on December 12, 2019 as part of the Series 17 update on both Xbox One and PC. Will The Eliminator be able to capture people’s attention or has it missed the Battle Royale train? Let us know down in the comments below!
