The launch of OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro is just around the corner. With a little over a week left in the official launch, anticipations have gone through the roof. Countless rumors and leaks have surfaced the internet, many of which we have covered.
Since then, there have been some more developments regarding this and they do seem both promising and disappointing. Well, two of them has been officially confirmed by OnePlus’s CEO, Pete Lau, himself so let’s talk about the good one first. It is regarding the file systems of the upcoming flagship killers, which will be UFS 3.0.
"OnePlus 7 Pro having UFS 3.0 storage means it’ll just be overall faster than comparable smartphones."
Yes, the OnePlus 7 Series will include UFS 3.0 to give you next level #fastandsmooth experience. ? #OnePlus7Series

Now, for those of you who don’t know what a file system is, it is a way for your device to organize information in its storage. The more efficient a file system is, the faster your device can read/write files in its storage, resulting in an overall improvement in speed. Almost all Android devices you can buy today come with a UFS 2.0 storage, which is plenty efficient, especially when compared to the aging NTFS used in iPhones.
UFS 3.0, however, is a massive step ahead of the UFS 2.0 and will result in a massive improvement in file reading efficiency of the new phones. The new OnePlus 7 series will also be the first ever phones launch with that file system. That honor could’ve been the Samsung Galaxy Fold’s but wasn’t due to a delay in its launch due to a fatal flaw.
Next, is a leak regarding the looks of the new device. A Twitter user by the handle, @ishanagarwal24, has posted of what seem to be “official renders” of the OnePlus 7 Pro.
Exclusive: Here is your first look at the official renders of the #OnePlus7 Pro Nebula Blue and Mirror Grey variants! Looks good, doesn't it? Curved Screen and a triple camera setup at the back with #OnePlus written below. Your thoughts? #OnePlus7Pro #GoBeyondSpeed pic.twitter.com/ibRklVCODQ

If this is really true then it confirms what we previously knew about this device. It will have a notch-less and almost bezel-less curved edge display. The front camera will be pop-up and there will be a new triple-camera setup in the back. We all knew that so there’s nothing new, right? Well, now we know that there’ll be a new color variant for possibly only the Pro variant. It’s called the Nebula Blue and it looks stunning.
Lastly, to our disappointments, OnePlus has confirmed that their new devices will not be IP certified for water resistance. Much like their predecessors, they will be deemed “splash-proof” by the company. However, that may cause an issue with warranty if someone’s device gets damaged by water. OnePlus justified it by saying that certifications being the price up of the device in a video you can see below.
That was it for the latest leaks of the OnePlus 7 series. It surprising how a relatively new manufacturer like OnePlus has gained so much popularity in such little time. To an extent that its devices are one of the most hyped before their launch. Let’s just hope OnePlus doesn’t stray away from their original motive of giving us the best bang for our bucks.
