PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, or PUBG as you all know it, is one of the most popular games nowadays. Part of the reason for its popularity is the fact that it was available on a mobile platform along with PC.
Recently, Multiplayer Battle Royale style games have taken over the world by storm. The most popular ones being PUBG and Fortnite. Both support a respectable user-base and it’s easy to compare the two, given how similar they are. It is, however, difficult to deduce which one’s better than the other as, in the end, it all comes down to personal preferences.
One of the similarities that both PUBG and Fortnite share is that they are both premium games. Meaning, that they support heavy file sizes and are taxing on the device you’re playing them on. This won’t be an issue for gaming console users as consoles are optimized for an optimum gaming experience. The people who would be affected are the ones who play them on mobile and PC.
However, while it’s easier to get a phone with good specs that can run the game smoothly, it’s much more difficult when it comes to PC. People with lower-end systems had problems with the gameplay even if their PC’s had the minimum required specs.
Now, those users would be happy to know that there’s going to be a lite version of this addicting game that would run smoothly on lower-end devices. Aptly named, PUBG Lite, it features the similar gameplay with some exemptions, which we’ll discuss later.
The official YouTube channel for PUBG posted a video announcing this new version, which you can see below:
As you can tell from the title of the video, the game will be launched in Beta version and will only be available in Thailand for now. However, a global rollout will soon follow if the response is good enough.
