A gamer has created their artistic representations of potential past, and future evolutions for Porygon2 within the framework of the Pokemon games Scarlet and Violet, even though this digital creature’s lineage is not presently integrated into the game.
The designs offer a fascinating glimpse into how Porygon2 might appear in different temporal contexts and how it could fit into the game’s existing roster of Paradox Pokemon.
The ninth generation of Pokemon games introduced a novel feature, Paradox Pokemon, which combined traits from past and present Pokemon with innovative characteristics.
In Pokemon Scarlet, gamers were exposed to past versions of popular Pokemon such as Jigglypuff, Amoonguss, and Misdreavus.
In Pokemon Violet, new Paradox Pokemon like Delibird, Hariyama, and Hydreigon offered a glimpse into the future. It added a layer of complexity to the game and provided an exciting twist for longtime followers of the series.
A Reddit user named HertzBurst shared their imaginative creations on the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet subreddit, which featured both past and present forms of Porygon2, a virtual Pokemon that has been somewhat overlooked due to a controversial event.
Nevertheless, franchise fans, including both the anime series and video games, always appreciate new contributions involving Porygon. The past form, Wild Horns, is reminiscent of spores, with a body comprising two segments and three horns on its head. This form boasts a duo-type of Normal and Fighting, which removes the original Fighting-type vulnerability and enhances its physical prowess.
Unlike its past form, which has a fighting-type attribute, Porygon 2’s future form, Iron Data, displays a conventional Paradox Pokemon appearance with a colorful body and similar to its original design.
It has gained the Psychic type, providing a more vigorous special attack. While its physical form remains unaltered, its eyes have become more digital. Its color scheme now has a copper-like hue, resembling the future form of Iron Bundle, which also resembles Delibird.
Iron Data is described in the Pokedex as resembling a futuristic machine capable of storing data from the future. However, the recently released version 2.1.0 of the Pokemon Home app does not permit players to transfer Pokemon from earlier generations or Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to the latest generation. It leaves the Porygon line out of the app for the time being. However, fans hope it will eventually reach the main-game roster.
HertzBurst’s Paradox forms for Porygon2 would be a welcome addition to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as they would fit well with the existing Pokemon. The game’s developers decided to swap out Fossil Pokemon for Paradox forms, which have a mix of familiar and new elements. These creatures, such as Gallade, Hariyama, and Delibird, have distinct features, types, moves, and stats. In Pokemon Scarlet, the Paradox Pokemon have a primitive and rugged appearance, while in Pokemon Violet, they have a more futuristic and technological design.
Although Porygon was not included in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games or anime, it could have been a good candidate for a Paradox form. A Reddit user named dragondances19 created their versions of Porygon’s past and future forms.
In their interpretation, Porygon’s past form is called Strange Beak and has the water type, with its design incorporating Porygon’s unique beak. It is depicted as a distant ancestor of feathered Pokemon, adding an exciting twist to Porygon’s evolutionary background.
Iron Drone, a concept for Porygon’s future form, was created by a Reddit user and took inspiration from Porygon2’s design. It has a smoother and more streamlined appearance and is reminiscent of Iron Valiant, a Paradox Pokemon from Scarlet and Violet that combines features from different related Pokemon. Iron Drone’s Pokedex entry suggests that it possesses superior intelligence to humans, although its reasons for serving them are unknown.
This Paradox Pokemon has Psychic typing, which increases the power of its Psychic-type moves. Its shiny version is notably more colorful than usual, which some fans consider unusual for a Paradox Pokemon.
The Paradox forms of Porygon, conceptualized by a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player, share similarities with other Paradox Pokemon found in the game’s Pokedex.
Although Porygon is not currently included in the game, there is hope it might be added in future updates or DLC, especially considering other Pokemon have appeared through events. Fans eagerly await to see if more Paradox forms will be introduced to the game.
